2. Where do you sell your pillows? Online vs. Offline
Online sales allow us to reach a wider target audience and offer our cushions around the clock. Therefore, from the very beginning, we were determined to create our own online shop (www.humstore.de) and sell our outdoor cushions through it. With an appealing website and social media presence, we can showcase the cushions creatively and communicate directly with potential customers. On the other hand, offline sales in local shops or at markets have their own unique appeal. Here, we can interact personally with customers, demonstrate the quality of the cushions firsthand, and receive valuable feedback. Customers also have the opportunity to see our cushions in person and feel their excellent quality. For this reason, we enjoy collaborating with retailers, and the cushions are presented very professionally in the stores. Both sales channels have their advantages and can complement each other. We are currently represented in over 40 stores in Germany and are planning to expand our sales throughout Europe.

To successfully market our cushions and outdoor cushions, it was important for us to have highly appealing photos and descriptions. These were designed to highlight the unique advantages of the cushions and to inspire customers by showcasing them in attractive settings. We regularly present our cushions and offer suggestions for their many decorative possibilities in our online shop, on Instagram, and on Pinterest. When it comes to retail stores, we directly approach the shops we like and inquire about collaborations. We primarily use cold calling, visiting the stores directly and presenting our cushions. This allows us to showcase our cushions in person and demonstrate their quality and design. This approach has proven very successful, which is why we've decided to exhibit more at trade fairs. In our experience, sales via emails and phone calls are very time-consuming and, in most cases, unsuccessful.
