We are Helen and Michael – and hum wasn't an idea born in a meeting room. It was a very personal moment of frustration: We were looking for cushions for our new outdoor sofa. They had to be beautiful, comfortable, functional – and yet designed in a way that truly made you want to look at them. What did we find? Disappointments. Too little choice. Too poor quality. Designs that didn't excite us.
So we made them ourselves.
That was the birth of hum.
20 years of product development – every stitch counts
We have been involved in product development and quality management for over two decades – internationally, with experience and high standards. This knowledge is embedded in every single hum cushion: in the selection of fabrics, in the way they are sewn, in the decisions that you don't see but feel.

Manufactured Quality - Made in Germany
Every hum cushion is handmade in a manufactory in Germany. This is not a label we simply affix – it's a daily lived decision. For quality we can control. For working conditions we stand behind. For a product that delivers on its promise, not just for the first season.
Our fabrics come from renowned weaving mills like Kvadrat and rohi: virgin wool, linen, bouclé, from Europe. Materials that feel different. That age better, that enhance a space instead of just filling it.
Outdoor cushions can stay outdoors
Our outdoor cushions are water-repellent and UV-resistant – but they don't feel that way. No hard plastic feel, no compromise on comfort. We developed them until both were right: weather resistance and genuine comfort. Because your terrace, balcony, garden – these are your favorite places. They deserve the same as your living room. The inner cushion is also made in Germany and has been adapted to the cover – for perfect softness.

We know: With a high-quality product, you want to be sure. That's why you can order free fabric samples – feel them, hold them up to the light, and compare them with the colors of your furniture. And if the finished cushion doesn't fit after delivery, returns are free. No risk. No stress.
Sustainability is not a marketing buzzword. It's our claim.
We only use certified materials and also process high-quality fabric remnants from weaving mills – because preserving resources and producing beautiful products are not contradictory. Our packaging is plastic-free. hum cushions are made to not need replacing after two years.
